Modelación numérica con Telemac del comportamiento del flujo y sedimentos del desarenador Quitarasca I

This study comprehensively evaluated the hydrodynamic and sedimentological behavior of the Quitarasca sandtrap using a quasi-3D numerical model. The research focused on understanding the complex interactions between water flow and sediment transport within the sandtrap. Additionally, the simulation assessed the performance of the sandtrap under two different operational scenarios: with and without the inclusion of dissipating grids at the channel inlets. These grids are designed to reduce flow velocity and enhance sediment deposition efficiency. The findings provide valuable insights into optimizing sandtrap design and operation to improve sediment management and hydraulic performance.

Análisis numérico del comportamiento de enrcados como protección en aliviaderos de compuertas

One of the most important elements in a hydroelectric project is the spillway, which consists of a fixed spillway and a gated spillway. During normal operation and flood periods, high velocities are generated downstream of the gated spillway. Therefore, dissipation structures are designed to restore the flow without affecting the hydraulic structures and natural conditions. These structures can be made of natural rock, riprap, or concrete.

Estado hidrológico, hidráulico y sedimentológico de los embalses en la Región Piura

Reservoirs are designed to store and regulate river waters, ensuring the availability of water resources. Their design, construction, and operation encompass various engineering disciplines, such as hydrology, hydraulics, and sedimentology. This study include gathering information on these disciplines in the reservoirs of the Piura region. This will help understand the behavior of the reservoirs and their hydraulic structures, ultimately aiming to determine an optimal reservoir design suited to Peruvian conditions.
